Hi, I'm Hollie, and I'm a fiber addict.  Whatever it is, I do it: knit, crochet, tat, weave, spin...the list goes on.  I've been a member of this community for a while, and attended the SnB meetings while they were at the Neutral Ground.

I propose that we organize another SnB, though I would prefer we have better light and less smoke than what we had at the NG.  It was hard for me to see my work, and I would come home reeking of smoke.  Not fun for any form of needlework.

How does PJ's on Maple sound for a venue?  I've met there with other groups before, and as long as we buy refreshments there, they leave us alone for the most part.  If not, anywhere uptown would be good.  I do live in the 'burbs (Westbank), but I can get uptown fairly easily and I spend more time there than I do in my own 'hood anyway.

Let me know...or we can find another venue, preferably uptown. I would prefer no smoke and lots of light for seeing our  work.

My wife and I own Zotz Cafe and there used to be a SnB there until the main person organizing it moved to Europe. My wife stitches but does not feel comfortable enough in her skills to be teaching others/running a night by herself. We've been non-smoking inside for over a year now, although if you need a smoke break there are tables outside and a patio with a fountain in the back. The front room is well lit and we have those goose-neck table lamps if you need extra light. We'd love to have you over and you would find my wife there more weeks than not joining in with the stitching. Our busiest night of the week is Wednesday, so any day besides that would be great.

If you have any questions or reccomendations please feel free to e-mail me at ZotzCafe@cox.net

Thanks for the invite! I remember going to a SnB at Zotz, but that was before you became non-smoking on the inside. Sounds like you'd be worth considering.

If I'm correct, Zotz is on Oak Street, non?

zotz is on oak on the 8200 block. i'd love to go to SnBs there! the lighting isn't always all that great, but there are lamps around we could use.

Sup, man? It's Jane--the one with bright red hair who spends hours in your shop alternating between procrastinating and writing. I didn't know you were on here.
