I'm a hand spinner, too, but I use a spindle(s). Can't afford the money or space for a wheel. I knit, crochet, tat, and weave too!
What I'd like to see? Reminders of SnB meetings, patterns, random bitching, and all of the above! I haven't been to a SnB lately, so I'd like to find out about one so I can get there. :)

I'd love to learn to tat and weave. I started out with a spindle but I just didn't have the coordination for it. (wheels can be cheap and small btw. Before katrina I built a knock off of a babe wheel for under $100 now I own a real babe)
Beautiful yarns!
I'm a knitter primarily, but I also quilt and am starting to explore embroidery a little bit, mostly as accents on the knitting or quilting.
I'd love to hear more of SnB meetings, and any fiber-related news. Events of any fiber-related-ness would be great!
In a related vein, is anybody here on Ravelry? :D

Thanks!
I'm not on ravelry :(
I am! I am! On Ravelry, that is. I'm "mshollie" there, too. I've been looking at Babe spinning wheels, and I'd like to buy one at some point. Weaving is lots of fun. I use primarily rigid heddle and backstrap looms. Backstrap looms are so portable...you just roll 'em up and take your weaving with you.
BTW, I love your yarns. They look so consistent, as opposed to some of the slubs I've been spinning.
How goes the baby stuff?

I got really consistent when I got my wheel... with the spindle I was all slubs. If you want to try out a babe you could pop over to my house one day.
Baby stuff is going well. I'm currently making night time diaper soakers. (I'm going to cloth diaper) Today I'm going to brush felt them and then maybe I'll post a tutorial or something. | |
